Step 1

1. Cook the potatoes
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced potatoes and season lightly with salt, pepper, and paprika if using. Cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally so they don’t stick.
Add a small splash of water or broth, cover the pan, and let the potatoes steam for 5–8 minutes until they start to soften.
2. Add beef and onion
Add ground beef and chopped onion to the skillet. Break the beef apart as it cooks. Stir everything together.
Cook until the beef is fully browned and the onions are soft. Drain excess grease if needed.
3. Season
Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well so everything is evenly coated.
4. Finish cooking
Continue cooking uncovered for a few more minutes so the potatoes finish softening and slightly brown in the pan.
5. Serve
Serve hot as a simple skillet meal
