Instructions

Step 1
Mix warm almond milk, warm water. Add sugar. Then add yeast. Let foam 5-10 min undisturbed. Don't get too hot or it will kill yeast.

2. Mix flour + salt. Add yeast mixture and Stir into a soft dough.

3. Knead 5–8 min until smooth. It will be sticky.
Step 4
4. Cover and rise 45–60 min until doubled. Sealed cover isn't necessary and might keep too wet.

5. Divide into 10–12 pieces; roll into smooth balls.
Step 6
6. Rest 10–15 min.
Step 7
7. Put paper in basket. Steam 6 pieces for 10–12 min over medium heat. Let sit 2 min before opening lid.
Step 8
8. Heat 2–3 tbsp oil in skillet (medium‑high). Add buns; fry bottoms 2–4 min until deep golden.
Step 9
9. Optional: Flip and fry tops 1–2 min for full crisp.
Step 10
10. Serve warm with soy or chili sauce.
