¼ cupsoy sauce
½ cupketchup
or chicken broth, creates the rich sauce base
1 tablespoonhoney
or 1/4 cup honey, optional, for extra stickiness
1 tablespooncornstarch
mixed with tablespoon cold water, slurry, to thicken the glaze at the end
Instructions
Step 1
Season both sides of your bone-in pork chops with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chops for 1 to 2 minutes per side until a light golden crust forms. Transfer them directly into your slow cooker.
Step 2
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, ketchup (or broth), honey, and minced garlic until smooth.
Step 3
Pour the sweet and savory sauce mixture evenly over the pork chops in the slow cooker, ensuring they are well coated.
Step 4
Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours (or on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours), until the pork chops are fork-tender and cooked through.
Step 5
Remove the cooked pork chops from the slow cooker and set them aside on a plate. Pour the remaining liquid from the slow cooker into a saucepan, whisk in your cornstarch-water slurry, and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat. Let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until it reduces into a thick, glossy, sticky glaze.
Step 6
Plate your pork chops and generously spoon the warm, rich glaze over the top. Enjoy alongside mashed potatoes, white rice, or roasted vegetables to soak up the extra sauce!
