Shortbread — Your Half Batch

4 steps
Prep:15minCook:15min
Uses your note “To make half (murat and me only)” and your substitution of powdered sugar. Your half-batch note keeps 2 tbsp (30 ml) vanilla, the same as the original full batch; preserved as written. The source header says 30 minutes baking but its biscuit method says 12–15 minutes.

Instructions

Step 1
Cream butter and icing sugar until very light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Fold in flour to form a soft dough. Cover and refrigerate for about 1 hour.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 175°C. Roll into balls and flatten with the base of a floured glass, or roll out and cut into shapes.
Step 3
Bake for 12–15 minutes until the edges are golden. Larger rectangles need longer; the saved clipping refers to additional finger-cutting notes that are not included.
Step 4
Cool and serve, or dip in melted chocolate if desired.
