For the icing
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 160°C grease and line Traybake tin
Step 2
Butter, sugar, syrup, treacle into a pan, Flours and ground ginger into a large bowl, eggs and milk in a measuring jug.
Step 3
Heat the ingredients in the pan gently until the mixture has melted evenly. Allow to cool slightly
Step 4
Beat the eggs into the milk, pour the cooled butter syrup mixture into the flour along with the egg and milk mixture, beat until smooth.Bake until well risen, golden and springs back.
Step 5
Leave to cool, place on cooling rack mix icing sugar with Milk until it is the desired consistency for icing and pour over the cake and when cold cut into 16 squares.
