Instructions
Step 1
Combine all dry ingredients and mix.
Step 2
Cook beef in oil over medium heat until beef changes color.

Add dry ingredients to the beef, stirring to coat the beef.

Add beef broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 1 1/2 hours with pot partially covered, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

Cool, then let sit in refrigerator overnight for flavors to meld and ripen.

Reheat and add drained beans, or serve them on the side. Add sour cream just before serving. Sliced lime is optional.
