Chocolate Caramel Coconut Flour Brownies

The combination of cacao powder, dark chocolate chips and maple syrup is rich and sweet — but heart-healthy too! And, the star ingredient of this recipe, the coconut flour, is gut-friendly and won’t leave you feeling drowsy an hour after eating these brownies.
Please note there are two recipes and sets of instructions here: one for the brownies and one for the caramel sauce!

Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, add the wet brownie ingredients and combine.
Step 3
Next, add the dry brownie ingredients.
Step 4
Stir until all ingredients are incorporated together.
Step 5
Pour the mixture into a greased 8x8 pan.
Step 6
Top with chocolate chips and/or nuts if desired and bake for 25–30 minutes.
Step 7
While the brownies are baking, prepare the caramel sauce.
Step 8
Place coconut milk, coconut sugar and honey in a saucepan.
Step 9
Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat and allow to simmer for 15 minutes.
Step 10
Add in coconut oil, vanilla and sea salt and mix.
Step 11
Allow the brownies and sauce to completely before serving. Then drizzle the brownies with caramel sauce.
