Dutch Oven Potatoes (Тушёная Картошка)

Pork could be substituted with 4 large chicken breasts. Last time, when it was made with chicken, I didn't use butter at all, and it came out good. The original recipe calls for 2 hrs. in the oven, but the chicken version was ready in just over an hour. Most of the liquid did not reduce, so, if using stock and not water, save it to use as a soup base.

Step 1 - Fry meat

Step 1
Fry pork in a little bit of oil until brown. It doesn't have to be fully cooked. Use the same Dutch oven you will be using for the rest of the recipe. Preserve fond. If using chicken, fry in small batches, draining the liquid, so it actually fries and not boils or steams.

Step 2 - Stew in the oven

Step 2
Combine par-cooked pork or chicken with the rest of the ingredients in the Dutch oven. Cover completely with liquid (water or stock). Bring to a boil on the stove.
Step 3
Mix. Put in the 360 degrees oven for 1 hrs, covered. 20 min before the end slightly open the lid.
