Fried Shrimp with Panko

Fried Shrimp with Panko✨ Bought a whole pack of panko breadcrumbs a long while ago and was supposed to make Japanese Katsu, somehow it never happened so plan has changed😅. This dish is inspired by famous Hong Kong style garlic fried shrimp (if you know, you know), it’s a mild version recipe but absolutely produces an aromatic flavour! The shells are crispy and so delicious to eat. Honestly this was so good that I can finish it very quickly. INGREDIENTS - 9 large shell-on shrimps (150g) 🔪Devein shrimps and use kitchen scissors to cut a slit through the shell along the back. Pat dry and set aside. FOR MARINADE - 1 tbsp sea salt - 1 tsp white pepper - 2 tbsp rice cooking wine OTHER INGREDIENTS - Plain flour - Crispy fried garlic - 6-8 tbsp panko breadcrumbs - Vegetable oil for frying - 1 tsp salt - 1 tbsp sugar - 1 tbsp soy sauce - Spring onion - Chilli flakes METHOD 1. In a large bowl, sprinkle sea salt, white pepper, cooking wine over shrimps to marinate for 10 minutes. 2. Lightly coat marinated shrimps with flour. 3. Shallow fry the shrimps until golden crispy on shells, remove them from the pan and set aside. 4. Heat the same pan (wipe up excess oil with kitchen paper) over medium heat, add panko breadcrumbs and crispy garlic to mix through. 5. Put fried shrimps back in, add salt, sugar, and soy sauce to taste, keep stirring until everything combined. 6. Sprinkle spring onion and chilli flakes before serving.
