Ingredients

1 tsppeppercorns
1 tspcumin seeds

1 Tbspred chili powder

2 cupsyoghurt

Instructions
Step 1
Wash the rice and boil it, add some salt to taste.
For the gravy and meat:
Step 2
Put some oil in a pan on medium high heat. Add the peppercorns, cumin, cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon and cardamom to the pan and stir until fragrant.
Step 3
Add the onion and saute it until it becomes translucent and golden.
Step 4
Add the meat and the ginnger carlic paste. Stir fry it for 10 minutes.
Step 5
Add the salt, coriander powder, red chili powder, biryani masala and stir again.
Step 6
Add the yoghurt and tomatoes. Stir and add some water if needed. Bring to a boil and cook the meat until it becomes tender.
Step 7
Add some potatoes and green chilis. Cover the pan and let it cook.
Layer food
Step 8
Layer the rice and the meat gravy in a seperate pan.
Step 9
Add some food colouring and mint leaves/coriander leaves on the top.
Step 10
Mix the layers and serve the biryani!
