Nigerian Style Chicken Shawarma with juicy spiced pan fried chicken thighs with german chicken sausage and tangy but sweet shawarma sauce with some coleslaw.

Instructions

Step 1
In a pan on high heat, toast the cumin seeds for 2 mins or until light brown. Remove from heat and add the seeds in a pestle and mortar. Pound until smooth.
Step 2
In a medium mixing bowl, add in the chicken marinade and chicken whisk together until well incorporated. Marinade the chicken for 30 mins or overnight
Step 3
In a small bowl, add in the shawarma sauce ingredients and whisk together until well combined. Set aside.
Step 4
In a bowl, add in the coleslaw ingredients and a tbsp of the shawarma sauce. Mix together until well combined and set aside.
Step 5
In a large pan on high heat, add in vegetable oil. Once the pan is hot, add in the chicken thigh skin side down. Cook one side for 6 mins or until browned and then flip the other side and cook for about 6 mins or until chicken is cooked.
Step 6
Cut the chicken into small pieces and set aside.
Step 7
Using the same pan on high heat, add in the sausage. Cook for 5 mins or until sausage is cooked.
Step 8
To serve, get a piece of pita bread and smear the shawarma sauce, add the chicken, sausage, coleslaw and some extra sauce. Wrap up and enjoy !
