Cabbage and Ground Beef Soup
Celery can be substituted with celeriac root.
Chicken stock can be substituted with other stocks or even water.
Rice can be substituted with durum wheat or bulgur.
Marmite can be substituted with red miso paste or even soy sauce.
To avoid beef overcooking and becoming a slurry, set it aside after browning and add it at the very end.

¼ cuptomato paste

Instructions
Step 1
In a large pot break up and brown beef over medium-high heat.
Step 2
Add onion, garlic, carrots, and celery. Cook, stirring, until soft.
Step 3
Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Step 4
Add bay leaves, cloves, thyme, marjoram, salt, and pepper.
Step 5
Stir in cabbage, rice, stock, water, and Marmite.
Step 6
Bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until cabbage is tender, and rice is cooked through (about 20 minutes).
Step 7
Discard bay leaves.
