Ginger and Garlic Crab

My grandmother used to make this more me and my grandfather when I was young. Was one of my favorite seafood dishes. This method I am cooking in shallow oil and stir frying, but I think I want to revisit this recipe in the future and try steaming the crab in the sauce. I do like that it is crispier and easier to break since its fried.

Ingredients

1Dungeness crab
1 cupcorn starch
1 Tbspground black pepper
1 cupoil
2 inchesginger
fine julienne cut
8cloves garlic
chopped
1jalapeño
sliced
1green onion
sliced
House Made Sauce
Instructions
Step 1
1. Prepare crab by breaking down into smaller parts as you see fit
Step 2
2. Coat crab with corn starch and black pepper
Step 3
3. Prepare the house-made sauce by combining the listed ingredients
Step 4
4. In a large pan, add oil, ginger, and garlic. Let the ginger and garlic infuse with the oil, ensure not to burn
Step 5
5. Place chopped crab in and stir fry until cooked through, about 3-4 minutes or until crab turns red
Step 6
6. Add jalapeños, house made sauce, and incorporate until crab is coated
Step 7
7. Garnish with green onions and serve
