Yaki Onigiri 🍙 | Japanese Grilled Rice Balls | Vegan Crispy Rice ball stuffed with soy marinated avocado. You can stuff them with anything, from vegan chicken, vegetables, nuts or eat without the stuffing. Just drizzle some Soy chilli dipping sauce some sesame seeds and grill or pan fry to crispy heaven. 📸: Recipe by Ingredients * 2 cups uncooked short grain rice *1 * 2 cups water * 2 Tbsp vinegar * 1 tsp sugar * 1/2 tsp salt * 1/2 an avocado * 1 small carrot finely chopped * 2 tsp Light soy sauce * Black & white sesame seeds to sprinkle * Soy Chilli Dipping sauce - recipe coming out soon * Cook the rice by following the instructions as mentioned on the packet. I used short grain rice. * While the rice is being cooked, take avocado, carrots and light soy sauce together in a bowl and mix well. * This step is optional but it adds another flavour dimension- mix salt, sugar and vinegar till they are well dissolved. Drizzle this mixture over the rice. * Divide the cooked rice into 6 equal portions. * Shape and squish the rice in a piece of cling wrap. * Add 1 tsp of avocado mixture and cover with more rice. Now seal and cover the cling wrap and press gently into a triangle shape.
