Instructions

Step 1
Melt 2 tablespoons oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.

Add the garlic and ginger and sauté over medium heat until fragrant, 2 to 3 minutes.

Add the soy sauce and maple syrup and stir for 1 to 2 minutes, until the flavors incorporate.

Remove from the heat and let cool.

When cooled, pour the sauce into a small bowl and set aside.

Thinly slice the steak against the grain into 1/4-inch slices.

Heat 1 cup of oil in the same large skillet used for the sauce over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until the edges start to darken.

Remove from the heat and set the steak aside on a paper-towel-lined plate to drain.

Pour the excess oil from the skillet into a heat- safe container.
