Chicken Bread

Instructions

Chicken mix

Step 1
Boil and shred the chicken and set aside
Step 2
Fry the onion with some butter until transparent and then add in the flour and mix until the mix is all dry and toasted
Step 3
Add milk and cook until it starts to thicken
Step 4
Add the boiled shredded chicken in along with salt and black pepper
Step 5
Mix until its the right consistency then add herbs and some chopped bell pepper. If the mix feels too dry, you can add a splash of milk again. (The mixture should stick together and not be too runny)

Let it cool down completely before using

Bread dough

Step 7
Soak yeast in 1/4cup warm water
Step 8
Mix flour, salt, sugar, egg and oil. (I used medium flour for it this time but you can use plain flour or wholemeal flour based on preference)

Add the yeast mix and knead to a medium soft dough. Add warm water as needed

Roll it up in a ball once done, brush some oil on, and leave it covered for atleast 1hr. )The longer you leave it, the better the dough will rise)

Once the dough has risen, scoop it all together in a ball again and cut in four equal parts. (I made 4 chicken breads with this but you can also cut it in smaller portions and make smaller individual breads or into dough balls. I baked 2 and froze the other 2 for later so next time you just need to defrost it and bake as normal)

Assembly and baking

Braid the dough with mixture as shown in video or you can just roll it up in dough balls too

Apply egg wash. I also sprinkled some sesame and nigella seeds.

Place in oven at 200 °C for 25mins until golden and cooked through

Apply butter all over once out of oven and

Wrap & leave in foil for a bit so it stays soft
