Instructions

Step 1
Boil 1 litre (35 fl oz/4 cups) water in the kettle.
Step 2
Meanwhile, slice the cavolo nero, discarding any tough stalks.
Step 3
Roughly chop the tomatoes.
Step 4
Pour 750 ml (26 fl oz/3 cups) boiling water into the saucepan and add the stock, orzo, cavolo nero, tomatoes and tomato paste.
Step 5
season with salt and pepper.
Step 6
Gently boil for 7-8 minutes, stirring
Step 7
frequently to prevent sticking, until the orzo is tender.
Step 8
Add more boiling water if too thick.
Step 9
Taste for seasoning before serving.
