Instructions

Step 1
Melt the butter with olive oil in a large saucepan, and gently fry the onion and celery for 5 min. Add the crushed garlic, beef and skinned sausages and cook until they are lightly coloured.
Step 2
Add the wine and let it bubble for 1-2 min until slightly evaporated. Add the tomatoes, sugar, bay leaves, oregano, tomato paste and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat to its lowest setting, cover the pan with a lid and cook for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally and thick and pulpy.
