Ingredients

150 gramsred lentils
500 milliliterswater
150 gramsbulgur
brown & soft
½ cupolive oil
1onion
large, chopped into small pieces
1 teaspooncumin
1 teaspoonRed Chili powder
1 teaspoonsalt
3 tablespoonschili paste
or chili molasses
1green bell pepper
cut into small cubes
2 tablespoonsparsley
chopped
1 teaspoonmint
green, chopped
½ cuppomegranate
whole grains
½ cupmint leaves
for garnishing
The Sauce
Instructions
To make the Kibbeh
Step 1
In a small bowl, sauté the onions with half the amount of olive oil for 2 to 3 minutes, add the cumin and the chili pepper, and cook for a minute, add the lentils and water.
Step 2
Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
Step 3
Add bulgur and season with salt, then transfer the mixture to a bowl.
Step 4
When the mixture cools, add the chili paste, the balance of the olive oil, bell pepper, parsley, mint then mix and leave the mixture in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.
To Make the Sauce
Step 5
Mix all sauce ingredients together and set aside; So it is ready to use.
To Serve
Step 6
Cut the kibbeh into small balls.
Step 7
Moisten your hand with a little olive oil and form the kibbeh like a strips shape with the fingers.
Step 8
Sprinkle the pomegranate in each Kibbeh finger, garnish with green mint and serve with the sauce.
