Step 1
Cook ground beef with salt and pepper in frying pan, drain fat and set aside. Chop seasonings and saute in olive oil inside stock pot until onions are clear. Add cooked beef. Open stewed tomatoes and crush the tomatoes in your hand over the pot, adding the juice from the cans when you’re done. Add tomato sauce. Add sugar and then salt and pepper generously. Simmer covered for 25-30 minutes. Add chili powder and kidney beans with the water in the cans. Stew for another 60 minutes.
Step 2
Serve with shredded cheese, sour cream and onions
