Chinese Spicy Basil Clams

I always order basil clams at Chinese restaurants. But it is so easy to make at home for lunch or as a side dish to compliment a dinner meal!

Step 1
1. Let clams soak in fresh water for 1 hour. Rotating fresh water out every 20 minutes to remove sand

2. Mince the garlic, slice the jalapeños, ginger and green onions

3. Oil a pan generously and sauté the garlic, jalapeños, ginger, and green onions
Step 4
4. Add the cleaned clams, soy sauce, chili crisps, oyster sauce, black bean garlic chili paste, coconut soda, and corn starch slurry. Mix all ingredients well
Step 5
5. Incorporate Thai basil and steam the clams for 4 minutes
Step 6
6. Cut the heat, transfer to a plate and garnish with more basil
