Step 1
Add oil to a heated pan, caramelise the onion and remove to a casserole dish/camp oven. Cut tofu into chunks and caramelize then transfer to a casserole dish/camp oven. Deglaze with warm water.
Step 2
Melt buttery in a small saucepan, add in flour and stir well. Once mixed add ¾ of the water from frying pan mixing constantly then add stock powder, salt and Worcestershire sauce, stir constantly until boiling then simmer until required consistency is achieved, then pour over tofu and onion. Ensure tofu is covered, if not stir in extra water until it is.
Step 3
Cook for 1 hour at 120°C.
Step 4
This recipe can easily be scaled up, or converted to a stew by adding vegetables. Do NOT cook vegetables any longer than 2 hours.
Step 5
If you add volume then make more sauce at the recipe ratio.
