Instructions
Step 1
Melt 1 1/2 sticks of butter over medium heat until it starts to foam and crackle. Continue for a few more minutes until the butter starts to smell nutty, the color turns brown, and there are little brown bits on the bottom of the pan. Remove from heat and pour into a bowl.
Step 2
Pour in 3/4 cups chocolate chips and stir until they are melted.
Step 3
Combine 1 cup sugar, 3 eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla and whisk with electric mixer for 5-10 minutes until it becomes pale and creamy.
Step 4
Pour in melted chocolate and mix on low speed until combined.
Step 5
Using a spatula, add in 1/2 cup flour and 1/2 cup sifted cocoa powder, just until combined. Then add in 1 cup of mix-ins ( I did 1/2 a cup of chocolate chips and 1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate). Don’t overmix, because you don’t want to incorporate too much air.
Step 6
Pour into an 8x8 metal pan lined with parchment paper. Cook at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes, until you can stick a toothpick in and no wet mixture comes out.
Step 7
Let cool completely before cutting.
