Mix together the butter, granulated sugar and powdered sugar

Add the egg

Stir in the flour and salt

Divide dough in two and combine the food coloring with one half

Refrigerate for 1 hour

Preheat oven at 180Β°C

Measure 15g of each color dough and gently roll into 10 cm long log shapes

Twist cookie dough together and transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper

Bake at 180Β°C for 11 min

Let the candy cane cookies sit on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely
