Ingredients
8 servings
1 lblean ground turkey
you can also use chicken or beef
1onion
medium
1 Tbsminced garlic
1 packagechili seasoning mix
15 ozroasted garlic tomato sauce
can
14.5 ozcan fire roasted diced tomatoes
15 ozcan pumpkin puree
15 ozcan pinto beans
or mixed chili beans
15 ozcan red kidney beans
or mixed chili beans
15 ozcan black beans
or mixed chili beans
2 Tbspumpkin spice seasoning
1 cupwater
hot sauce
optional
cheddar
shredded, or crumbled goat or gouda cheese
light sour cream
pepitas
avocado
sliced
Instructions
Step 1
brown ground meat in skillet on medium high until slightly pink. drain any excess fat add chopped onions and garlic then cook another 1 - 2 minutes.
Step 2
add tomato sauce and chili seasoning mix then stir to combine
Step 3
Continue stirring 1 - 2 minutes then remove from heat and add mixture to crock pot.
Step 4
add canned pumpkin, tomatoes, beans (do not drain) and pumpkin spice to crock pot. stir until well blended.
Step 5
add amount of water based on chili preference (use more if you want your chili soupier and less if you want it thicker) stir until blended. You can add more water later if chili is too thick.
Step 6
cover and cook on low until heated (6 - 8 hours)
Step 7
Serve in bowl and top with cheese, sour cream, pepitas, sliced avocado and hot sauce (optional)
