Carne Asada Tacos

3 steps
Prep:5minCook:15min
Quick and easy to make carne asada street tacos. These are just as delicious as the street vendors tacos sold in big cities across the united states. My recipe is spicy hot. If you can't take the heat you can forget the serrano peppers. The lime, cilantro and seasoning make the tacos what they are. I used a Brazilian seasoning I found at Wal Mart that is not cheap, but sure tasted delicious so it's my go to seasoning when I make them. You can use cummin instead which is cheaper or try to find a carne asada seasoning in your local grocery stores. Cooking and prep time is under 30 minutes total.

Instructions

Step 1
Drizzle some olive oil in a frying pan and cook the diced flank or skirt steak. Make sure it's good and seared then add in the seasoning along with a bit of cilantro and add some of the diced hot peppers to give it an extra hot kick infused into the meat. I used lime juice from the bottle to soak the seasoning into the meat in the final stages of cooking the meat and used it liberally.
Step 2
Prep the toppings while the beef is cooking to save on prep/cooking time - Dice Cilantro, Onion, Peppers and quarter a Lime.
Step 3
Place the meat on a shell add cilantro, diced onion, and peppers. Serve with a quartered slice of lime. Corn tortillas are the shells I normally see used in vendor tacos I've purchased. You can use any kind of tortilla shells. The corn tortillas seem to be more authentic so they are what I use.
