Instructions
Step 1
Soak green moong for 3 hrs in water.
Step 2
Cook the moong in pressure cooker for up to 3 whistles
Step 3
Finely chop/puree tomatoes. Do the same for onions and green chili. Separate cilantro(coriander) leaves from stem and finely chop
Step 4
In a pan, add oil, cumin seeds(jeera) to splutter. Add finely chopped green chillies and ginger garlic paste. Turn heat to low.
Step 5
Now add onions and saute till golden brown. Now add all the masala powders(red, garam, dhania) and let it cook for a few minutes. Keep stirring so it doesn't burn.
Step 6
Now add finely chopped tomato/puree. Stir well and let it cook until the oil starts separating. Keep a low flame.
Step 7
Once a strong aroma emanates, add cooked moong, salt and some water for appropriate consistency. Cook for 5-7 mins.
Step 8
Garnish with cilantro leaves, stir once and turn off heat.
