Instructions
Step 1
Thoroughly rinse crabs---shower in kitchen sink---or run water continuously over while still alive (that's the fun part!) Fill pot with about 3 inches of water.
Step 2
Add Heaping Portion of Old Bay, 6 Bay Leaves, Rounded Tablespoon of Powdered Mustard, Salt (shake the shaker around til' you think it's enough but not too much!), Lightly shake some red pepper into the mixture.
Step 3
Bring to rapid boil.
Step 4
One by one place those suckers into that pot of boiling mixture!
Step 5
When they've quieted down a bit, pour in half cup of vinegar (over the top of them), then sprinkle with lemon juice.
Step 6
Cover and take hold of that pot and while keeping the cover in place--- off the flame --- shake it up and down vertically a few times to get all that good stuff all over the crabs!
Step 7
Return to heat. Bring back to a boil, and let it steam until the crabs are red/orange.
Step 8
Take out immediately and begin the cleaning process (not for the feint of heart). While dripping water is necessary for the cleaning, don't wash them so good that all the flavor is wiped out. Arrange on a platter. Squeeze some fresh lemon over each crab. Decorate the dish
Step 9
by placing sprigs of parsley on top with wedges of fresh Lemon.
Step 10
Cover with clear plastic wrap, refrigerate for an hour or so before serving.
Step 11
The clean up is rough.....make sure someone other than the chef is around to go off to the dump with the remains.
