Instructions

Step 1
Soak the lentils in water for about 20-30 min
Step 2
While you wait, cut the onion, green onion, tomatoes (remove skin of tomatoes), celery parsley, and cilantro
Step 3
In a big pot, put 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
Step 4
Then add the chicken and onion in the pot for 2 minutes and stir

Add the lentils & chickpeas in to the pot
Step 6
Blend the celery with a little bit of water (optional)
Step 7
Add the celery to the pot
Step 8
Add the fresh tomatoes to the pot
Step 9
Add all the spices except the salt to the pot
Step 10
Add 4-10 cups of water to the pot

Leave to boil for 45 min
Step 12
Add 1 can of the tomato paste

Add the cilantro and parsley (you can save a little for garnishing)
Step 14
Stir flour and water in a separate bowl until it becomes liquidy (optional)
Step 15
Add the flour mixture into the pot
Step 16
Then add the vermicelli into the pot
Step 17
Continue to stir soup for 5 min straight, make sure you don’t stop stirring or else it’ll get clumpy
