Soak rice for 30 minutes
Step 2
Cut chicken into medium sized chunks and add to a large bowl with yogurt, garlic paste, ginger paste, garam masala, 1.5 of the biryani spice packets (reserve other half of the spice packet)
Step 3
Bring water to a boil with oil, remaining half packet of biryani spice packet, and turmeric to a boil. Add rice, cook halfway through (TIME?), then strain.
Step 4
In a large pot, layer chicken on the bottom and rice over the top. Sprinkle with dried onions and cilantro. Cover with a lid and cook 30-45 mins on medium/low heat.
Step 5
Remove lid and cook for additional 5 mins. Fluff with a fork, serve with raita or ranch.
