Basic Wild Rice
Wild rice is closely related to true rice, as both share the same plant tribe, Oryzeae. Wild rice is higher in protein than regular brown rice and contains a high amount of zinc. Cooked wild rice can be added to soups, made into grain pilafs, or stuffed into cooked winter squash.

Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the wild rice in a fine-mesh strainer, then transfer to a medium pot, add the water and sea salt, cover, and bring to a boil.
Step 2
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 60 to 75 minutes.
Step 3
Remove the pot rom the heat and let stand, covered, for 10 minutes.
