Instructions
Step 1
Mix flour and salt together
Step 2
Mix sugar yeast and warm water together and mix thoroughly. Let sit for five minutes for the yeast to prove.
Step 3
Pour oil and yeast mixture into the flour.
Step 4
Mix with hand mixer and dough hooks until all the flour is a nice doughy consistency. It shouldn’t be sticky—that means it’s too wet. If it won’t hold together but flakes off, that’s too dry. Take a very small lump, It should stretch when you try to pull it apart.
Step 5
Cover with plastic wrap and let raise in a warm place about 35 minutes. If it’s not warm enough it will take longer for the dough to double. You can tell when the dough is doubled because you poke it and it won’t spring back
Step 6
Preheat oven to 385 degrees.
OvenPreheat
Step 7
Divide the dough into two halves and shape into loaves. I use a baking stone, but you can use loaf pans too. If you use loaf pans make sure they are oiled so the completed bread doesn’t stick.
Step 8
Let raise for 20 more minutes. I put my stone on the top of the stove to stay warm while raising.
Step 9
Place loaves into heated oven and cook for about 35 minutes. The tops will be a nice rich brown and if you thump a loaf it will sound hollow.
Step 10
Enjoy!
