Easiest Vegan Southern-Style Dumplings

This is a nostalgic comfort food, and perfect for cold days. You can season this any way you want, and add any protein or vegetables to this, really. I love adding Tofurky's Italian sausages and corn.

Ingredients

For the Dumplings
1 cBisquick Mix
1 Tbspnutritional yeast
1 tspdried basil
1 tspdried parsley
¼ tspdried thyme
½ tsponion powder
¼ tspgarlic powder
black pepper
to taste
⅓ cSoy Milk
For the Broth
Instructions
Step 1
Add water to a sauce pot and cover, bring to a boil
Step 2
Measure Bisquick into a small bowl
Step 3
Add seasonings and mix
Step 4
Add Soy Milk and mix well, it will seem pretty dry but that's just fine
Step 5
Once the water is boiling, add the bouillon
Step 6
Carefully drop the dumpling mix into the boiling broth. You can use two spoons, or a small cookie dough disher. Each dumpling should be roughly the same size, whatever your preferred size is

Let it boil uncovered for 10 minutes
Step 8
Add whatever extras you want and stir. Cover the dumplings and turn the heat down to a simmer for 10 more minutes
Step 9
They're done! Be careful to let them cool a bit before diving in, they hold heat like you wouldn't believe
