Instructions
Step 1
Rinse rice. Add rice to rice cooker and cover with water. Slosh around, then slowly pour out as much water as possible without losing any rice.
Step 2
Add olive oil to rice cooker and begin to simmer with the lid open. Stir for 2 to 3 minutes until most water is gone.
Step 3
Sprinkle in turmeric and mix to get the color even. Stir for 3 to 5 minutes.
Step 4
Add masala spice, stir for another 2 to 4 minutes.
Step 5
Pour in can of coconut milk. Add water to appropriate fill line. Close the lid and set to cook "white rice."
Step 6
Done! Tastes great as is, but consider adding fresh cilantro and/or crushed cashews to give even more flavor and texture.
