Instructions
Step 1
Heat your frying oil on the stove while you make your dough. You want the temperature to be between 345F-350F.
vegetable oil
Choux Dough
Step 2
Combine the water, butter, sugar, and salt in a medium-size saucepan.
water1 cup
unsalted butter6 Tbsp
granulated sugar1 Tbsp
salt½ tsp
Step 3
Bring the above mixture to a rolling boil, before removing it from the stove and adding in the flour. Mix vigorously after you add the flour in until it turns into a dough ball.
all purpose flour1 cup
Step 4
Place the dough back on the stove for about 30 seconds to cook further, while continuing to stir.
Step 5
Finally, remove the dough from the stove and let cool for 3-5 mins before adding in your eggs, vanilla extract, and red gel food color. Make sure each egg is fully incorporated before you add the next.

red gel food color2 drops
vanilla extract1 tsp
Step 6
When the dough drips off the spoon in very thick ribbons, you can place it into a piping bag or ziplock bag with a large closed star piping tip.
Step 7
Pipe heart shapes onto parchment paper and then cut the parchment paper into squares around the hearts to make for an easy transfer to the hot oil.
Step 8
Remove the parchment paper after 20 seconds in the oil and then fry for 2-3 mins per side. Remove the cooked churros from the oil and then let cool on a cooling rack, so the excess oil can drip off.
Step 9
If your dough is a bit on the soft side, feel free to chill the hearts for about 10 mins in the fridge before frying. This will help them keep their shape when you move them into the oil.

Step 10
Melt some white chocolate in the microwave on 15-second bursts, stirring in between each one, and then drizzle over the top of your cooked churros. Add edible glitter, sprinkles, or whatever you think might taste delicious, and ENJOY!
