Preheat oven 350 Remove the core from the cabbage head and pull off 12 leaves. Rinse leaves in cold water. Cut the heavy stem from the base of each leaf in a pan of boiling water to soften. Cover pan and turn off heat to steam. Step 2 Mix ground beef, rice, egg, and chopped onion in a bowl. Remove the cabbage from the water and drain water. Place a heaping teaspoon of the beef mixture in the center of each leaf. Fold over half of leaf, tuck in ends, and roll up secure with a toothpick. 2 Quart casserole pan put a thin layer of tomatoes sauce in the bottom of the pan the place the roll in the pan then pour the rest of the tomatoes sauce over the rolls and cover and bake at 350 for an hour.
