Instructions
Step 1
Cook the crumbled Italian sausage, ground beef and shallots in a deep skillet or soup pot until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook 30 seconds. Add the marinara sauce, bay leaf, Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese. Stir and cook about 15 minutes.
While the sauce simmers, cook the pasta according to package directions for al dente. Do not overcook. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and half of the asiago and mozzarella cheese. Pour into a greased 13x9-inch baking pan. Top with the remaining cheese. Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and beginning to lightly brown. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
