Step 1
1. Measure the 5 cups of oatmeal and blend in food processor or blender to a fine powder.
Step 2
2. Mix oatmeal together with FLOUR, SALT, BAKING POWDER, and BAKING SODA. Set aside.

3. Cream the BUTTER, SUGAR, and PACKED BROWN SUGAR until well beaten.

4. Add EGGS and VANILLA to butter-sugar mixture and cream until fluffy.
Step 5
5. Add in dry mixture, a scoop at a time, until blended together.
Step 6
6. Add CHOCOLATE CHIPS

7. Roll into small balls or use a small cookie scoop and place two (2) inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. (I spray my cookie sheet with bakers spray)

8. Bakers about 10 minutes at 375°. If you like them crisper, bake 1-3 minutes longer.

9. Cool on racks

TRICK* Make the full recipe and freeze half the dough for later. Roll in parchment paper like a log for easy slice and bake. Thaw before baking.
