English Stew Dumpings

Instructions

Step 1
Mix all of the dry ingredients together in a bowl, including salt and any additional seasoning, such as pepper, sage or garlic

Now slowly add water while mixing until the mixture just comes together, you're aiming for a dry and crumbly mixture that only just comes together You'll notice the mixture starts to form a ball and comes away from the side of the bowl

Empty the mixture out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for around 1 minute until the mixture is tacky instead of sticky

Weigh the mixture and divide the amount by the total dumplings you want to make (1 serving is 1 dumpling)
Step 5
Separate the mixture into equally sized pieces and roll each into a ball
Step 6
When your stew is 30 minutes from finishing add the dumplings to the top of the stew, cover and cook for 20 minutes

Preheat your oven or grill to 200 degrees

After 20 minutes remove your dumplings from the stew and space them equally on a baking tray and cook in the oven for another 10 minutes
