Ingredients

1 Tbspoil
1 lbground beef
2onions
medium, chopped
1clove garlic
chopped
1 tspsalt
¼ tsppepper
¼ tspdried thyme
3 Tbspall purpose flour
1 x 284gcan condensed beef broth
1 tspworcestershire sauce
2carrots
diced
4potatoes
large
1 Tbspbutter
1egg
beaten
½ cmilk
½ cgrated cheddar cheese
2 Tbspgrated parmesan cheese
2 Tbspbread crumbs

Instructions
Step 1
Cook ground beef, onions and garlic in oil until beef is lightly browned.
Step 2
Add salt, pepper, thyme and flour.
Step 3
Blend well .
Step 4
Gradually stir in beef broth.
Step 5
Cook until nicely thickened.
Step 6
Stir in Worcestershire sauce and carrots.
Step 7
Cover and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.
Step 8
Spoon into a buttered 9-inch square (5L) casserole dish.
Step 9
Peel and cook potatoes until tender.
Step 10
Mash with butter.
Step 11
Blend 1/2 beaten egg with milk, and cheddar cheese.
Step 12
Beat into mashed potatoes.
Step 13
Spread on top of meat mixture.
Step 14
Brush with reserved egg.
Step 15
Sprinkle with Parmesan and breadcrumbs.
Step 16
Bake in 400°F (200°C) oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
