Instructions
Step 1
Heat the oven to 180C fan/gas6. Boil water in large pan for the potatoes, salt the water. Place sausages on tray in foil with garlic and cook for 25 mins. Turn half way through.
Step 2
Meanwhile, once water is boiling simmer the potatoes for 15 mins. Drain in a colander and leave for a minute. Add the milk and butter to the potatoes and mash. Keep warm with lid.
For the gravy
Step 3
Heat the butter in a large frying pan. Add the onion and sprinkle with the sugar, then cook gently, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 15 minutes or until the onion is soft and lightly caramelised.
Step 4
Sprinkle the flour over the onion, stir and cook for 1 minute. Gradually stir in the stock. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and leave to simmer gently until thickened. Add Worcester sauce.
Finish and Serve
Step 5
Add the sausages to the gravy and simmer for a bit.
Plate up the mash, then top with sausages and pour over the gravy.
