Invite the 1960's back into your home! Use canned sloppy joe sauce to make it even quicker.
My tweak of a recipe originally from myfearlesskitchen.com. For more adventure, consider jalapenos in the cornbread mix.

For the sloppy joe layer:

Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Step 2
In a medium skillet (I prefer cast iron), brown ground beef and onion.
Step 3
Transfer the beef mixture to a 9x13 baking pan. Stir the sloppy joe sauce into the beef. Spread into an even layer in the pan. Top with cheese.
Step 4
In a small bowl, stir together the cornbread mix, milk, and egg.
Step 5
Evenly spread cornbread batter over the cheese.
Step 6
Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, until the cornbread is golden. You can put high in the oven for the last 5 minutes to improve browning.
Step 7
Allow to cool until no longer bubbling around the edge. Score and cut with a knife or pie server (my tool of choice). Then serve with a large spoon.
