Chicken Tortilla Soup

Instructions

Step 1
Cool chicken in pan. Remove from pan and shred chicken. Sauté onion and bell pepper. Add garlic.
Step 2
Sauté onion and pepper. Add garlic.
Step 3
Add chicken broth and tomato sauce to pan.
Step 4
Add all spices to pan
Step 5
Cool until everything is warm and simmering and broth has spices and onion flavors incorporated into it (about 20 min)

Meanwhile, cut avocado into slices
Step 7
If desired, cut corn tortillas into thin strips and sauté in 1/2 c of oil to make into crispy strips.
Step 8
Add chicken back into the saucepan
Step 9
Serve soup with avocado slices, cheese and tortilla strips.
