Battelli Family Recipe that dates back to the late 1800’s. I got this recipe from my Mom, who got it from my grandmother( my dad’s mom), who got it from her Mom (my great-grandmother) from Sicily.
(You can double the sauce by doubling the ingredients)

For the Sauce

Step 1
In a sauce pan ~
Brown garlic & onion in the oil.
Add one can ground peeled tomatoes and 1 med (or 2 small) cans of paste to the pan. Also add equal amounts of water - 1 ground peeled tomato can and 1 (or 2) paste can(s)
Stir …. Add salt, pepper oregano and 2 TBSP of sugar stirring •Bring to a boil and then turn heat down to a simmer, stirring occasionally
Cook -One hour with cover on -One hour with cover off
