Ingredients
8 servings
1 poundsstew beef
cut into cubes 1-2 inches on a side
oil
2onions
medium, chopped
5cloves of garlic
2carrots
diced
1 canchopped tomatoes
can add a tablespoon or two of tomato paste
2green peppers
2potatoes
medium, in cubes
3 tablespoonsHungarian paprika powder
sweet
ground black pepper
salt
according to taste
water
or beef broth, to cover
Instructions
Step 1
Heat the oil, sautée the beef cubes until brown - remove
Step 2
cook the onions and peppers until soft or slightly brown
Step 3
return the onions and peppers to the pot and add the paprika and then the garlic, bay leaf
Step 4
cover with water or beef broth ad simmer for 1 hours. Add the carrots and potatoes and tomato and continue to cook for another hour or so.
Step 5
salt to taste
Step 6
serve with pasta
