Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 170C
OvenPreheat
Step 2
For the cake, In one bowl combine all dry ingredients, except for chocolate chips. In another bowl whisk all wet ingredients using a hand mixer or whisk.
Step 3
Add dry ingredients to the wet and mix well until combined.
Step 4
Add chocolate chips and mix again.
Step 5
Cover the baking ring(d 18cm) with the aluminium foil and place it on a baking tray. (you can use a cake mould instead, but in this case, grease it with butter)
Step 6
Transfer the dough to the baking ring and bake for 50-60 minutes (check if ready with the tooth peak )
Step 7
When ready let it cool completely ( I prefer to leave it overnight in the fridge, covered with cling film.
Step 8
Cut out the top of the cake( leave about 3cm from the bottom)
Step 9
Divide the cake into 8 equal pieces.
Step 10
Insert the wooden stick in each piece and pop it into the freezer for a minimum of 1 hour (it will help the glaze to set faster.
Step 11
For the glaze, break the milk and dark chocolate into small chunks and place them into the microwave-safe bowl. Melt in the microwave in short 10 seconds bursts, stirring constantly every 10 seconds. When melted add 45ml vegetable oil and mix until combined. Set aside to cool a bit.
Step 12
Melt the milk chocolate in the same way and add 5ml sunflower oil. Mix until combined and transfer to the piping bag.
Step 13
Dip each cake piece into milk and dark chocolate mix, and place onto tray lined with parchment. Pop into fridge for a few minutes until chocolate sets.
Step 14
Decorate with white chocolate and sprinkles and enjoy!
