Chapaguri Beef Ram-Don
Chapaguri Beef Ram-Don 🥩✨
Remember I ever made this dish during lockdown when it was featured in the film Parasite and has taken the internet by storm 🌪(now kind of miss my cooking in these old days🥺), and since then it has become one of my favourite ways to cook Korean noodles as the recipe combines both classic flavours of ‘Chapagetti’ and ‘Neoguri’. (Chapagetti is black bean noodles and Neoguri is spicy seafood one, they are all produced by
and that’s also the name ‘Chapaguri’ coming from.)
To make it more luxurious, add an expensive cut of beef to the bowl like the film version and it’s absolutely LUSH✨. I’ve been missing out on this dish lately so decided to make it (also coming up with a Reel for you 😚).
𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒
- 1 pack Chapagetti
- 1 pack Neoguri
- 130g sliced ribeye (or chunk steak if you have✨)
- Cooking oil
- A small handful of sliced garlic
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Unsalted butter
- Spring onion
- Sesame seeds
𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐃
1. Bring enough water to a boil and cook two packs of noodles for about 4 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, heat sufficient oil in a pan over high heat, cook sliced garlic until slightly golden.
3. Add beef and sear both sides evenly, season (juts a bit) with salt and black pepper.
4. Place cooked noodles in the pan with all seasoning packages including dehydrated vegetable mixture and oil, add some noodles water (add more if it tastes too salty), reduce to medium heat.
5. Add a knob of butter (this is the secret tip I’ve learned from
recipe) and mix everything well in the pan.
6. Sprinkle with spring onion and sesame seeds before serving.
