Rice, Sausage, & Veggie Bowl

Instructions

Step 1
Take each of your peppers (red, green, orange, and yellow) clean and slice them into thin long slices.
Step 2
Next, take your red onion peel, rinse, and cut into thin long slices.
Step 3
After you have cut your veggies, take your sausage and cut into even circular slices.
Step 4
Once your sausage is cut, take your rice (white, parboiled, or whatever preference you have) and rinse rice off.
Step 5
Once your rice is clean, add about 2 & 1/2 cups of water to your rice along with a 1/2 cup of chicken broth.
Step 6
After you have added your water and chicken broth to your rice, now add a table spoon of butter and a table spoon of salt (or salt to your liking) to your rice.
Step 7
Once you have prepped and seasoned your rice, begin to cook.
Step 8
While your rice is cooking, place two pans over medium heat and add olive oil to each pan.
Step 9
In one pan add your cut veggies and season with a table spoon of onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cajun seasoning. Let this cook for 10-15 mins or until tender. Stir frequently.
Step 10
In your second pan, take your cut sausage and add to pan to begin cooking. Let this cook for about 8 minutes stirring frequently and then increase to high heat and cook an additional 6-8 minutes or until desired level of crispness is reached.
Step 11
After your veggies have cooked for about 10-15 mins or tender, turn to high heat and cook for an additional 6-8 minutes to fry and crisp your veggies to your desired level.
Step 12
After your sausage has finished, remove from heat and sit aside.
Step 13
Once your veggies have finished cooking, remove from heat and sit aside.
Step 14
Once your rice has finished cooking or reached level of tenderness, turn on warm or either remove from heat.
Step 15
In a bowl, add your rice, veggies, and sausage.
Step 16
Mix together and enjoy
