Instructions
Step 1
Peel and chop potatoes into cubes. Rinse and set in pot filled with water to boil.
Step 2
While potatoes boil, chop onion. Preheat the oven to 425. Fry chopped onions in a small amount of oil on medium heat for about 1-2 minutes. Add ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking up larger chunks as it cooks.
Step 3
Season beef to taste. We like garlic and onion powder, with a bit of salt and pepper.
Step 4
When potatoes are soft, drain. Combine with milk, butter, and salt to taste. Mash with masher or mixer to desired consistency.
Step 5
In a large corningware or glass baking dish, layer your ingredients : beef, then corn, then mashed potatoes on top. First, add the cooked ground beef, spread as the bottom layer. Then open and drain 1 whole kernel can of corn, add layer. Open and add 1 can creamed corn. Open and drain the second can of whole kernel can of corn, add layer. Open and add second can creamed corn. Carefully add the mashed potatoes without mixing up the corn into the mashed potato layer. Smooth the top with your fork or spatula. Gently sprinkle paprika across the top of the mashed potatoes.
Step 6
Bake at 425 for 20 minutes. Done.
