Instructions
Step 1
Add all shrimp paste ingredients to a food processor or blender and combine until a paste forms — set aside once done
Step 2
For the sauce, add all ingredients except the cornstarch mixture to a small saucepan and bring to a boil
Step 3
Once boiling, take the mixture off heat and mix in the cornstarch mixture — let sauce cool until thickened
Step 4
Cut the edges off of the toast, then spread the shrimp paste mixture to the edges of the toast and flip the shrimp paste side down onto a plate of sesame seeds to coat
Step 5
Get some oil in a pan hot over medium heat, then pan fry shrimp paste side down first until golden brown and flip, cooking until the bread side is golden brown as well
Step 6
Drain on paper towels, cut in half into triangles, and enjoy with the dipping sauce!
